RHODIUM-PLATED SILVER & THE ART OF SHINE
Handcrafted and engraved with our signature, our sterling silver jewelry is enhanced by a thin layer of rhodium, guaranteeing a brilliant and lasting shine, a symbol of quality and craftsmanship.
WHAT IS RHODIUM?
Rhodium is a precious metal belonging to the platinum group. Very rare, it is especially prized for its silvery-white luster and exceptional resistance to corrosion.
In our Signe Particulier workshop we use a process called electroplating, which consists of depositing a thin layer of rhodium on our 925/1000 solid silver jewelry.
THE ADVANTAGES OF RHODIUM
Rhodium plating offers numerous advantages to silver jewelry.
Silver is a metal subject to oxidation; thanks to the thin layer of rhodium, it is protected from the natural tarnishing caused by air, humidity or perspiration.
Its brilliance is preserved over time. By strengthening the surface of the jewelry, it also makes it more resistant to scratches and everyday wear and tear.
This treatment can also limit allergic reactions, as the thin layer of rhodium isolates the skin from the underlying metal.
A RARE AND PRECIOUS METAL
Rhodium is one of the rarest metals on Earth: it represents barely 0.000000001% of the Earth's crust.
It is found mainly in South Africa, in the Ural Mountains, as well as in South America and Canada.
Its rarity gives it a value superior to that of gold or platinum.
Make boldness your signature.
